El Sonido Callejero & Santos de los Angeles

A few months ago Babylon’s Train became one of the media sponsors of two kick-off concerts for the Latin Invasion Tour in San Francisco and Oakland with Sonido Callejero, Santos de los Angeles, Manicato, La Misa Negra, among other local latino bands.

This time around we decided to take a different approach and instead of filming the concerts live, we decided to go on the creative side and develop a more intimate episode for all of our viewers, so on this occasion we present two acoustic/street songs with a couple of the bands that were traveling from Los Angeles to the Bay, Santos de los Angeles and El Sonido Callejero.

El Sonido Callejero is a relative new band that got together in 2010 with the idea of using several rhythms and sounds derived from the Mexican culture mixed with rock, cumbia, reggae and norteñas.

Santos de los Angeles is a Latin band whose origins started in Los Angeles but they now have members living in the bay area, San Diego and of course, the hometown L.A..  Their music is a bit melodic, but we can hear other Latin sounds in the mix. They have  a great balance between Spanish and English songs and a great burlesque type of show that accompanies the music. The dancer and the rest of the music troop goes by the name of the Player Saint Orchestra.

We hope you enjoy this episode, we had fun doing filming this one! See you next time
